In the public teaching, His Holiness will speak about the importance of worldly ethical values.

How ordinary people can attain inner peace and happiness through positive thinking, openness and compassionate caring towards each other.

In the public teaching, His Holiness will speak about the importance of worldly ethical values, independent from the Buddhist religion, and how ordinary people can attain inner peace and happiness through positive thinking, openness and compassionate caring towards each other. The Dalai Lama has written many successful books (also published in Hungarian) about these immensely important ideas. Those who are interested in this theme will have the opportunity to hear at first hand the teachings and thoughts of His Holiness.

Teaching

His Holiness the Dalai Lama is revered by the Buddhists as a Buddha. In their view, he is an enlightened holy man, a prominent spiritual master of our age, the keeper and realizer of the highest teachings of the Inner Way. Through his boundless love and compassion he has a direct, intimate and deep relationship with the powers of nature which function in us externally and internally (body, mind and soul).

When the Dalai Lama teaches, he uses the Enlightened Universal Mind of Wisdom. This is why he is able to appeal personally to each of his listeners, in the most appropriate way according to our personal abilities. Whoever listens to his Holiness' words carefully (not only with his/her mind, but with an open heart too) receives the opportunity and power to gain deep realizations about himself/herself and the world and in that holy state he/she will be able to re-establish his/her life on a new, more fruitful basis. Being a Buddhist is not a precondition of this. Each of us can interpret and use the Dalai Lama's instructions which reveal the deepest universal human values, beyond religion, in accordance with our own spiritual and religious practice.

Blessing

His Holiness the Dalai Lama When His Holiness gives a blessing he becomes one with his innermost nature which is the Buddha of Love and Compassion of whom he is the manifestation. In this state of endless love and compassion he can have a very positive effect upon the souls of those who accept his love with genuine openness and devotion. His Holiness' mind and the participants' open heart can merge in the experience of the deepest certainty, freedom and happiness. Some may have a powerful experience, some may receive simplicity and calmness. All participants receive the blessing independent of their feelings. Many people receive deep realizations and, as a result, are able to see themselves and their lives more clearly.

Independent of the experiences during the blessing, such an intimate meeting with His Holiness leaves a permanent and deep imprint at the deepest, most unconscious, basic level in our mind. This is the core of our enlightenment whose effects will evolve in the near or distant future. This is like planting a seed that will germinate and bear fruit. We carry this seed from one life to another and in the end it leads us to the fulfillment of perfect happiness, freedom, love and wisdom which is the realization of our innermost real nature.

The blessing has a universal nature: everybody is able to receive it independent of religion and ideology. It calls forth the universal humanity within us at the innermost, deepest level. It awakens and strengthens our most basic nature which is unconditional goodness and genuine humanity.
